The White family has ties back to the Arnold family through Stella Arnold White. Arnold family siblings Stella Arnold White, Paul C. Arnold, Claud Arnold, and Ada Arnold Sides stayed in close contact throughout their adult lives. Stella Arnold White married Leonard H. White Sr., an inventor who started the Birmingham Fabricating Company. During the First World War, Paul Arnold served in the military with the American Expeditionary Forces and saw action in France. Leonard H. White Sr. also enlisted during the First World War but was not sent overseas.
