| Summary: | This document is a postcard from Paul C. Arnold from France. It was most likely sent with other letters or postcards to one of his sisters, Stella Arnold White, Ada Arnold Sides, or Claud Arnold. Although it is undated, it was almost certainly written when Paul C. Arnold was stationed in France from 1918 to 1919. The postcard shows a chateau in Vaux-sous-Aubigny with people standing in front of the building and a caption of "Vaux-sous-Aubigny Le Château". In 2016 Vaux-sous-Aubigny became part of the town of Le Montsaugeonnais. Paul C. Arnold writes about eating meals near the chateau in the photograph. The White family has ties back to the Arnold family through Stella Arnold White. Arnold family siblings Stella Arnold White, Paul C. Arnold, Claud Arnold, and Ada Arnold Sides stayed in close contact throughout their adult lives. Stella Arnold White married Leonard H. White Sr., an inventor who started the Birmingham Fabricating Company. During the First World War, Paul Arnold served in the military with the American Expeditionary Forces and saw action in France. Leonard H. White Sr. also enlisted during the First World War but was not sent overseas.
