Summary: | This image is a watercolor painting of the interior stairway in the Holliday-Cary Home, also known as the Holliday-Carey House or the Cary-Pick House, in Auburn, Alabama done by James E. Wood sometime between 1917 and 1942. The home was built in 1852 by Shelton. The painting shows the interior wooden staircase and its parts including steps and hand rails from several angles and overhead views. The title on the painting reads: "Stairway in Holliday-Cary Home built in 1852 by Shelton." There is an inscription in the lower right corner which reads: "2nd medal."
