Summary:This image is a watercolor conceptual painting of a fifteenth century gable end done by Enrique Silva sometime between 1934 and 1938. The painting shows the gable with its wooden frame, windows, wood carvings, and peaked roof as part of a wooden building with its windows, door, moldings, stone chimney, and sloped roof surrounded by trees and landscaping. The painting is set within framing art which contains wood carvings, a coat of arms, two geese, and a lamp. In the upper right corner is a label which reads: "School of Architecture, Architectural Renderings, RG 457, Original Number 100, 'A XV Century gable end', E. Silva." In the lower right corner is the artist's signature, a label which reads "100". an Alabama Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture stamp, the handwritten inscription "2nd Medal" in red, and a silver star. The painting is in good condition and is encapsulated.
