Description
Summary:This image is a watercolor conceptual painting of a roadside sign post done by Posey sometime between 1917 and 1942. The painting shows the mile post with a sign saying "API Auburn 1 mile." There is a woman walking along the road next to the post and the front of an automobile driving in the opposite direction on the road. The road runs beside a stream with a stone bridge. There is a mill with a water-wheel on the other side of the steam to the right. Trees, grass, and shrubs are also visible. There is a handwritten inscription in red in the upper right corner which reads: "1st First? Pla." next to a down arrow within a circle. There is a label in the lower left corner which reads: "71." The painting is in good condition with minor edge wear and is encapsulated.
