Description
Summary:This image is half of a watercolor conceptual painting of a museum for the fine arts done by Charles Francis Davis, Jr. during the 1930-31 academic year. The painting has been torn into two parts through the middle of the floor plan and this is the upper part. The upper half of this part of the painting shows a front view of the building with its doorways, windows, columns, architectural moldings, porch, dome, and flat, cylindrical, and triangular roofs surrounded by trees and landscaping. There are people on the grounds. The lower half of this part of the painting shows a partial floor plan with its rooms, walls, corridors, doorways, windows, columns, decorative floor coverings, exhibition hall, and interior courtyards. This part of the painting lacks the title and artist's information. The painting is in poor condition with large jagged pieces and the left corner missing from the top along with the ragged bottom edge where it was torn and is encapsulated.
