description This image is a pencil drawing of a perspective rendering done by John P. Shaffer, Jr. done sometime between 1917 and 1942. The painting is divided into three rectangles. The rectangle on the left has equally spaced lines drawn across it and the areas between the lines start in a light shade at the top and get progressively darker. The rectangle on the right also goes from a light color at the top and gets progressively darker but lacks the dividing lines. The rectangle in the middle is divided into two squares. The top square lacks lines, is dark around the edges and is light in the middle. The bottom square consists of ever smaller squares going progressively darker from a light color on the outer squares to a dark square in the center. The painting is simply titled "Rendering." In the lower left corner are the words: "Arch 102, Problem III." The painting is signed "John P. Schaffer, Jr." in the lower right corner. Above the artist's name there is a Alabama Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture stamp with the handwritten inscriptions "A" and "Placed" in red ink. Above the stamp there is a sticker which reads "39." The drawing is in fair condition with a spatter to the right of the bottom square and some slight discoloration and is encapsulated.
