description This image is a watercolor painting of a conceptual drawing of a flagpole base decorated with a sculpture done by an unknown student sometime between 1917 and 1942. The painting shows a gray, presumably metal, sculpture of a man wearing overalls and holding a sledge hammer standing in front of what appears to be an anvil, a wheel on its side, a spherical object, and a net resting on a base of granite or marble. The flagpole rises from the base of the sculpture. The bottom third of the painting shows a top view of the base of the flagpole and sculpture. There are two stickers in the upper right corner which read: "School of Architecture, Architectural Renderings, RG 457, Original Number 34, 'Flagstaff base'" and "34." The painting is in good condition with a crease on the left side but crisp edges and is encapsulated.
