description This image is a watercolor conceptual painting of a rostrum done by Brendon A. Bond in 1940. The painting shows a speaker at the podium with steps leading up to it and a hemisphere with a symbol in front of it. It also shows the wood panel behind the podium with a higher dais seating five men. Behind the dais is a doorway and curtains on the wall framing a wall map of North and South America. There are three flags on flagpoles on each side of the curtains. There is also an audience below the rostrum. At the bottom of the painting there is a cross-section side view and a floor plan. There are two labels in the lower left corner that read: "School of Architecture Architectural Renderings, RG 457, Original number 111, 'Rostrum for Pan American Congress', Emerson Prize, 1940, Brendon A. Bond" and "111." In the lower right corner there is an artist's information block which reads: "Brendon A. Bond, Ala. Polytech. Inst., Emerson Prize, 1940, Rostrum for P.A.C." Above the block is a blurred Alabama Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture stamp with a red handwritten check mark. The painting is in fair condition except for some large spots of discoloration and is encapsulated.
