Description
Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 1st edition, 1981, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 100: Auburn's great punter, Fox Howe, kept Georgia Tech out of touchdown range during a scoreless tie on this rainy day at Grant Field in 1923. Despite the wet football, Howe regularly kicked 45 to 55 yards, and his first punt went 82. At least two players were without helmets on this play. Howe wore a shin guard on his left leg.
