Description
Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 1st edition, 1981, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 156: Horse-drawn artillery enlivened ROTC drills on Bullard Field in the 1930s. Horses had been a part of military training at least from the spring of 1921, when fifty-three steeds arrived from Oklahoma and silenced a standing joke about Auburn's horseless artillery unit.
