Description
Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 186: This pep rally on College Street in 1940 must have been on drill day, judging from the number of ROTC uniforms. It was held outside the Tiger Theatre as the football team departed for Texas and the SMU game. Note the shadows of a few band members and their instruments on the pavement at the bottom left corner. The cheerleaders, left to right, were: Joe Gandy, Dottie Norman, David Gammage, Margaret McCain, and Dick Peck. Photo source: Auburn University Archives.
