Description
Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 196: Here's how World War II veterans enrolled at API in 1946. Seated with his back to the camera is P.M. Norton, college coordinator of veterans affairs. He and his assistants registered more than 4,300 returning veterans during the fall and winter quarters. Most vets took their studies seriously and, after a quarter of adjusting to academic life, outdid the younger students in the classroom. Photo source: Auburn University Archives.
