The Tigers beat Vanderbilt 81-63 to sew up the title, a stepping stone toward two victories in the NCAA tournament. ... The win gave Auburn a perfect 15-0 record at home and a wild celebration of the SEC Championship followed with fans storming the court, streamers flying and the Tigers cutting down the nets. ... In 2004, Auburn was shut out of post-season play for the second time in three years. AU President Ed Richardson fired Ellis.
