description This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 104: The API Band performed during the 1915 Alabama Confederate Veterans Reunion at Selma in front of the Hotel Albert. A few years later, several of these musicians were in Europe with the 16th Infantry Regimental Band. P.R. "Bedie" Bidez (third from right), later Auburn's bandmaster, led that Army band across France in World War I. Snare drummer F.M. "Taterbug" Taylor (at bass drummer's left) reportedly began to tap out "Touchdown Auburn" as the band entered Germany. The Army band also celebrated the allied victory by playing "Glory to Old Auburn." Photo source: Auburn University Archives.
