This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 1st edition, 1981, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 255: Bold Ruler, world's leading thoroughbred sire in the 1960s, is shown with Lawrence Robinson, Claiborne Farm's head stud groom, who brought him to Auburn in 1970 for cobalt treatment of a malignant tumor. After returning to Kentucky, he sired twenty-nine more foals before his death. Bold Ruler won the Preakness Stakes and a total of $784,204 in purses.
