Description
Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 1st edition, 1981, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 150: Alabama Governor B. M. Miller (left) presents honorary Doctor of Laws degrees in 1934 to the triumvirate who ran the college during three of the worst years of the Depression. Receiving the trustee-awarded honors were, left to right, John J. Wilmore, dean of engineering; L. N. Duncan, director of the Extension Service; and B. H. Crenshaw, head of mathematics. When President Knapp resigned in 1932, the trustees decided against naming another president because of the critical money shortage and the controversy over a successor.
