Description
Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 173: The graduation line wended its way into the Graves Centre dining hall-auditorium in May 1939. A year or so later, the exercises were moved to the new football stadium, weather permitting. Other locations for graduations have included Langdon Hall and the now departed student activities building. Beginning in about 1969, for about four decades commencements were usually held in Memorial Coliseum, later renamed Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. Photo source: Glomerata, Auburn University Archives.
