Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 411: When coeds straddled a log and started pillow fighting, it paid to duck or risk a muddy landing in the annual Sigma Chi fund raiser for philanthropy. The games began as the Sigma Chi Derby on February 21, 1948; [sorority members] competed in sack races, egg and spoon races, pie-eating, Coke and cracker contest, chariot races, and greasy pig chasing in the Quadrangle. ...
