Description
Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 140: For many years, this was named Main Street. In the 1920s, it was renamed College Street, but remained the main street. On a quiet day in about 1930, it was some eight days away from having its first traffic light. Note the man and the horse at left, and the man chatting away alongside a car.
