This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 322: [President] L. N. Duncan (1935-47) loved to hunt quail with his dog, Jim. He also enjoyed fishing and taught his young granddaughter, Ann Pearson, how to fish. She still believed at seventy in his axiom that a fish will bite if a dragonfly lands on the end of the pole. Duncan once rubbed blisters on his hand pitching horseshoes and had his chauffeur buy him gloves so he could continue the game. He also liked farm chores, including shelling peas.
