This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 1st edition, 1981, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 146: Auburn was a village when Dr. Cecil S. Yarbrough (standing at left) became a resident about 1900. Many credited him with working for the town's progress as a private physician, as a multi-term council member, as mayor in 1918, 1922-28, and 1936-44, as a state legislator, and as the college physician during World War II. He bought the antebellum Scott House [Pebble Hill] at the end of East Magnolia Avenue in 1912 for his family home, and he lived there until his death in 1946. He is shown at a clinic, circa 1938.
