Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 77: Dean C. A. Cary, standing at left, posed in 1909 with seniors and juniors in the recently created School of Veterinary Medicine. The first class to receive D.V.M. degrees from a school in the Deep South included W. M. Howell, who practiced at Clio, and James E. Threadgill, who practiced at Enterprise. The 1910 class included F. P. Woolf, who later taught at Auburn; B. H. Moon, a USDA veterinarian based in Alabama, Tennessee, and Iowa; and B. T. Simms, director of the USDA Regional Animal Disease Lab at Auburn 1938-45 and then chief of the Bureau of Animal Industry in Washington, D.C. Photo source: Glomerata, Auburn University Archives.
