Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 278: Residents hung around Toomer's Corner after the parade of April 25, 1986, to be in this picture commemorating the city of Auburn's 150th birthday. A Columbus, Georgia, station televised the parade and also this scene, and a copy of the "World's Largest Living Birthday Card" was sent to the "Today" show. ... The population, including students, had climbed to 28,471 by 1980, and it hit 33,830 a decade later. ...
