Description
Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 228: Students taking Dr. A.M. Pearson's wildlife management class in about 1951 used microscopes to examine seeds favored by game birds, especially the bobwhite quail. They also made field trips in learning how to achieve larger quail populations. Wayne Shell (upper right, near window) and other students carried the scarce microscopes from the third floor of Comer Hall to the Wildlife Research Building for their lab work. After the lab, they returned the microscopes so students in other classes could use them. Photo source: Auburn University Archives.
