Summary: | This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 92: A player without a helmet had a toehold on the ball carrier in this football game at Drake Field in 1915 approximately where the student union is now. At least one other player wasn't wearing a helmet, but he did have on a nose protector. Auburn won six games and lost two that year. Photo source: Lee County Historical Society. |
