Description
Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 2nd edition, 1996, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 147: Three coeds in long white dresses appear to be giving undivided attention to Daniel DeKalb Gibson, back to camera, and ignoring the smiles of fellow seniors to their left during 1915 commencement exercises in Samford Park. The coeds were, left to right, Hassie Terrell, Fanny Duncan, and Victoria Steele. Gibson, from Lineville, had been president of the freshman class and at this time was president of the senior class and cadet major of the First Battalion. Photo source: J. Andrew Douglas.
