Summary: | This document is a memorandum book written by James Asbury Tait from 1850 through 1855. Most of the book's content consists of details of the plantation's income and expenses, but it also includes some of Mr. Tait's thoughts on agriculture and advice on farming. This memorandum book was also used by James Asbury Tait to record the financial accounts of the Blacks Bluff Post Office, 1851-1853. The Tait family were plantation owners in Wilcox County, Alabama; active in politics in Georgia, Alabama, and Texas.
