Summary:This image is a colorized photograph of the White House of the Confederacy in Montgomery, Ala. Postcard text: (back) First White House of the Confederacy, Montogomery, Ala. Located on the Capitol grounds in Montgomery, the First White House of the Confederacy is one of Alabama's most cherished shrines. President Jefferson Davis [of the Confederate States of America] occupied the house until the government was shifted to Richmond, and many relics are still on display in the house.
