Postcard text: (back) This chair was a part of a drawing room suite owned by Mr. Bryan Croom of Florida and Montgomery, and was used by Jefferson Davis during the ceremonies of his inauguration as President of the Confederate States of America, February 18, 1861. It was presented to the Department of Archives and History by Mr. and Mrs. James George Whitfield of Whitfield, Ala.
