This is the first edition of the newspaper, published in 2010, and the articles highlight the progress made by the Pacers program over the course of 2009 and 2010. This includes articles detailing the successes of new educational programs at rural Alabama schools as well as highlighting outstanding students from these schools. Pacers (Program for the Academic and Cultural Enhancement of Rural Schools) is a non-profit association committed to sustaining and celebrating Alabama's rural communities and schools. The program advocates for these communities through the sponsorship of educational initiatives and community development programs.
