Summary: | This image is a detailed map of the state of Alabama in 1912 by Rand, McNally & Co. The map shows railroads, rivers, capitols, counties, cities, towns, and forts in Alabama and small portions of the neighboring states of Georgia and Mississippi. Different colors are used to highlight counties in Alabama. Grid lines are drawn to show townships. Hachure is used to show relief. An index is provided on the left margin to show the chief cities in Alabama with populations. A map key is placed under the title to explain the use of different symbols on the map. A phrase "Copyright by Rand, McNally & Co." is placed under the title. There is an inset map of the city of Birmingham at the lower right corner. The map is an original copy of a printed map and is encapsulated. There are slight signs of wear and tear along the edges and fold lines. But the main content of the map is still clear and legible. |
