This image is a map of the state of Alabama in 1923 showing the highway projects that are aided by the federal government. Bold lines in different colors are used to show the progress of those highways that are completed, under construction, under statement, or being surveyed. A map key is provided at the bottom to provide explanations. The map also shows counties and important cities that the highways pass through. A compass rose is provided at the right side to show the cardinal direction of East, West, North, and South. The map is approved on January 1, 1923 by State Highway Engineer with his signature at the lower portion of the map. The phrase "F.A.Salmon 1922" is printed at the lower right corner right above the bottom neat line. The map is an original copy of a printed map and is encapsulated. There are quite a number of missing patches along the fold lines. But the main content of the map is still legible. |
