Summary:This image is a map of the state of Alabama in 1846, showing the steamboat routes from Mobile to Tuscaloosa, Mobile to Montgomery, and Mobile to Pensacola, Florida. It also shows stage coach routes and distances between towns in Alabama. There is a steamboat route chart on the left and a map key on the right explaining the data and symbols used on the map. The map shows rivers, canals, railways, roads, counties, cities, towns, and forts. Relief is shown by hachure. The phrase "Entered according to the Act of Congress in the year 1846 by H. N. Burroughs, in the Clerks Office of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania" is printed right above the bottom neat line. Number "22" is printed above the top neat line at the right side. This map is an original copy of a printed map and is encapsulated. The map is in very good condition.
