description |
This image is a map of the state of Alabama showing the potential capability of land for agriculture, forestry, or urban life in 1948. A legend is provided to explain the different types of land capabilities by the use of different colors and shading patterns. A chart showing the percentage of land capability area in compare to the total land area of the state is placed at the upper left corner for reference. The paragraph at the bottom of the map states that the state map is compiled from the County Land Classification Map. There is a compass rose at the upper left corner to display the orientation of the cardinal directions: north, south, east, and west. Counties, cities, and rivers are shown on the map. The map is an original printed copy and it is not encapsulated. Except for some fold lines, the map is in good condition. |
