Description
Summary:This image is a map of the state of Alabama in 1884-85, showing the transportation routes insides Alabama and into the neighboring states of Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee. Railroads, rivers, cities and Alabama counties are labeled in details. Grid lines are drawn on the state of Alabama to show townships. There is a map key on the right portion of the map. "Entered according to the Act of Congress in the year 1884 by the G.W. & C.B. Colton & Co. in the Office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington" is printed right above the bottom neat line. The map is a printed map mounted on cardboard. It is not encapsulated. The map is not in good condition. Discoloration is found in different parts of the map. There is a fold line right across the middle part of the map which makes the top and bottom portion of the map slightly out of alignment.
