Summary:This image is a map showing the topography of the areas north and south of Sand Mountain in Cullman and Morgan Counties, Alabama. The map shows contour lines, mountains, rivers, creeks, railroads, roads, cities, towns, buildings, and boundaries with neighboring counties. The map is prepared by U.S. Geological Survey. The contributors are acknowledged in the lower left side of the maps and are stated as follows: “Henry Gannett, Chief Geographer. Gilbert Thompson, Geographer in charge. Triangulation by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. Topography by Louis Nell”. The survey was done in 1885 and the map was reprinted in 1924. The projection information is stated as “Polyconic Projection. North American Datum”. The contour interval is 100 feet. There is a scale in the center along the bottom of the map. The map is an original printed copy and is encapsulated. The map is in very good condition.
