In the bottom left margin, there is a statement mentioning that the soil survey is done by R.W. Rowe and William G. Smith of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and C.S. Waldrop of the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries in 1909. Names of the persons in charge of different offices are mentioned on the map and are listed as follows: Milton Whitney, Chief of U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Bureau of Soils, B.B. Comer, Governor of the State of Alabama, J.A. Wilkinson, Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries. It is an original printed copy and is encapsulated. Except for some minor wear around the edges and folding lines, the map is in good condition. |
