In the bottom left margin, there is a statement mentioning that the soil survey is done by William G. Smith of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and W. E. Wilkinson of the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries. Names of the persons in charge of different offices are mentioned on the map and are listed as follows: "Milton Whitney, Chief of U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Bureau of Soils, Curtis F. Marbut, in charge of soil survey, Emmett O'Neal, Governor of the State of Alabama, Reuben F. Kolb, Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries, Eugene A. Smith, State Geologist." The map is printed by "Synder & Black, N.Y." It is an original printed copy and is encapsulated. Except for some minor wear around the edges and folding lines, the map is in good condition. |
