| Summary: | This image is a map of the old federal highway road system in Butler and Lowndes Counties, Alabama. The map shows a portion of the Old Federal Road running side by side with the present day road from Butler County to Lowndes County. The map includes a section of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad which intersects with the Old Federal Road near the Fort Deposit Stockade site and the town of Fort Deposit. Statements "Maps change scale as pictures were larger in Butler County - Hale", with an arrow pointing at the old federal road, and "Small scale. See Sheet #18" are handwritten on the map. There is a compass rose in the upper right corner showing the orientation of north. An "Auburn University Libraries, Auburn, Alabama, Map Collection" property stamp dated July 16, 1990 is on the right. "Sheet #17" is handwritten in the lower right. In each corner, there is a handwritten "17" in red. This is a photocopy of a hand drawn blueprint and is not encapsulated. The map is in fair condition with some blue stains on the creases.
