Summary:This image is a map of the state of Alabama in 1960 showing the physical features of the state during that period of time. The map shows altitudes, rivers, lakes, major highways, capitols, counties, cities, and towns. Altitudes are depicted by the use of different color bands. A legend is provided at the lower right corner for explanation. Charts which show the average temperatures in January and July, and average precipitation in March, June, September, and December of several major cities are placed at the right side of the map. A phrase "Map published by Kurt Lang, cartographer. Birmingham 9, Alabama. 2201 Lester Lane. 'Copyright' 1960" is placed at the lower right corner. The map is an original copy of a printed map and is encapsulated. It is in good condition.
