Summary:This image is a detailed map of the state of Alabama in 1904. The map shows railroads, capitals, counties, cities, towns, forts, and rivers inside Alabama and rivers, roads, railroads, counties and major cities in small portions of the neighboring states. A map key is provided below the title. There is an inset map of the "Environs of Birmingham" at the lower right corner. On the left margin is an index showing Alabama's chief cities with populations. Counties inside Alabama are highlighted. Grid lines are used to show townships. Relief is shown by hachure. The phrases "Copyright, 1902. by Rand, McNally & Co." and "Copyright, 1904. by Rand McNally & Co." are printed right above the bottom neat line. The map is photocopy of a printed map and is encapsulated. The image is quite dark in color. But the main information is still legible. As a whole the map is still in good condition.
