Summary: | "Taking full advantage of an open date in the schedule to iron out the rough spots, the Tigers turned the Florida Gators everyway but loose in their second game of the season at Ladd Stadium in Mobile. Battling furiously for their first conference victory in two years the Auburn gridders completely outplayed a favored Gator team only to see the game end in a 14-14 tie. The Tigers were faced with the task of stopping the talented arrray of Gator Backs and not only did they do this but the Tigers led the Floridians in rushing by bringing out 225 yards to 163 for Florida. Charlie Lagner took the honor of top back of the day as he gained more than half of Auburn's yardage. Auburn drew first blood when Bobby Golden spun through the center of the line for five yards and a touchdown. A 55-yard pass play from Tidwell to Golden set up the score. the Gators, not to be outdone, took the ensuing kickoff and marched 91 yards for their first touchdown. Florida, capitalizing on a break, added 7 more points to go ahead, but then Auburn turned Lagner loose for a 25-yard scoring jaunt that tied the score. If moral victories counted on the scoring books Auburn would have surely won this one." (Description taken from the 1950 Glomerata)
