Summary: | "This was the calm before the storm. A listless Auburn played a keyed Clemson and the Tigers had to make a fourth quarter comeback to gain a 20-20 tie. Playing their second game of the season in Ladd Stadium in Mobile, the Tigers were the victims of bad breaks and sluggish playing. Tidwell spearheaded Auburn's attack, but it was the desperate last minute running of Jim Jeffers that saved the day for the Tigers. Auburn was trailing 20-14 when Jeffers sparked a fourth quarter drive that netted Auburn its third tie game of the season. Weaver, Tidwell and center Coker Barton scored the Tiger touchdowns and Tucker added two extra points from placement." (Description taken from the 1950 Glomerata) |
