Summary:Eugene B. Sledge (right) and Hao Ching Foo (left) are shown in this picture taken at the English Legation in Peiping (Beijing), China, in the winter of 1945. Foo was the house boy for the K-3-5 mortar section which was Sledge's platoon. Sledge was stationed in Peiping, China at the end of World War II before being rotated home. He wrote about his experiences in China and his friendship with Foo in his book China Marine.
