Whitfield Family Letters (1861-1865)
These are letters (15) written by or about Whitfield family members during the Civil War. The Whitfield family moved to Marengo Co., Ala., in 1835. N. B. Whitfield was instrumental in expanding the cotton culture into the Old Southwest and built Gaineswood mansion in Demopolis.
