Description
Summary:This collection consists of three letters, dating from May and June 1865, relating to the involvement of the New York City law firm of D. and T. McMahon in the case of the Confederate blockade runner Annie. The McMahon law firm was retained by the officers of the U.S.S. Alabama, one of the ships that helped capture the Annie off Wilmington, North Carolina, to represent them in prize court, where they believed the officers of two other vessels were unjustly trying to take the whole of the proceeds of the sale of the ship.
