Summary:These men were students at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) circa 1900. They are shown here planting a garden behind Samford Hall in the area that is now Ross Square on the Auburn University campus. Male students were called cadets and participated in military training in addition to their studies. They were required to wear gray military uniforms.
