Summary:I. F. McDonnell, Sr., was a student at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University), class of 1899. He was also a post graduate student in 1900. He was captain of a cadet company. McDonnell lived from 1879-1946. Male students were called cadets and participated in military training in addition to their studies.
