Summary: | John Ross Glenn (right) and this unidentified cadet were students at the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama (now Auburn University) in the late 1890s. Glenn founded the Auburn chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity in 1898. Glenn was born on June 24, 1879, he died on March 5, 1899, during his senior year. Male students were called cadets and participated in military training in addition to their studies. They were required to wear gray military uniforms.
